Dubai's weather, month by month

Visit Dubai gives these average temperatures: 21°C in January, 22°C in February, 24°C in March, 28°C in April and 31°C in May; 34°C in June, 36°C in July, 35°C in August and 34°C in September; then 31°C in October, 27°C in November and 24°C in December.

Daytime highs run hotter than those averages. The World Meteorological Organization's figures for Dubai, supplied by the UAE's National Center of Meteorology, put average highs above 40°C in July and August, while January's average low is 13.7°C.

Rain is rare in any month. On the same figures, February and March, the wettest months, average fewer than 4 days of rain each, and June to October almost none.

The outdoor season, and the summer

From October until April, Visit Dubai says, fine weather and a packed calendar of events make this the best time to visit for many travellers, and outdoor attractions take centre stage.

In summer, prices drop across the city's hotels and attractions as temperatures rise. Water activities are the popular way to beat the heat, and Visit Dubai points summer visitors to the city's indoor attractions; Ski Dubai's snow park, for one, is inside Mall of the Emirates.

Desert safaris run all year. In summer they are scheduled from late afternoon into the evening, when it is cooler in the desert than in the city, and Visit Dubai suggests light clothes and plenty of water.

This season's opening dates

Dubai Miracle Garden reopens on 8 October 2026 after closing over the summer for renovation, and is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00. Dubai Safari Park opens Season 8 on Monday 12 October 2026 at 09:00, and Global Village's Season 31 runs from 14 October 2026 to May 2027.

When we checked, Global Village had not put Season 31 tickets on sale; its own page says they will be available later this year. Dubai Safari Park's own Safari Park Pass is AED 50, and Dubai Miracle Garden's tourist day ticket is AED 100.

Events worth timing a trip around

Dubai Fitness Challenge, now in its tenth edition, asks the city to commit to 30 minutes of activity for 30 days, from 31 October to 29 November.

December opens with UAE National Day on 2 December, celebrated with fireworks across the city, and ends with New Year's Eve fireworks at midnight. Dubai Shopping Festival runs over New Year with deals, raffles and concerts; this season's dates had not been published when we checked.

In March, the Dubai World Cup horse race is held at Meydan Racecourse. Ramadan fell in February and March in 2026, and opening hours change during the holy month: the Dubai Frame, for one, says its timings may vary. In June, Dubai Summer Surprises opens its season of deals, prize draws and family entertainment.
