About this experience
The Dubai Fountain is the world's largest choreographed fountain system, set on the 30-acre Burj Lake at the foot of the Burj Khalifa: 6,600 lights, 25 colour projectors, and jets that throw water high above the water line, shooting to classical, Arabic and contemporary tracks. Most people watch it from the promenade. This ticket puts you on the lake instead, aboard a traditional wooden abra that carries you out onto the water while the show runs around you - close enough to feel the spray, with the Burj Khalifa directly overhead and the fountain arcing above the boat rather than in front of it. The ride lasts around fifteen minutes and is timed to a performance, so you are on the water for a full show rather than catching the end of one. Shows run through the evening. It is the best view of the fountain available at any price, and it works well as something to add to a Downtown evening rather than as a trip in its own right. You will catch some spray; that is part of it.

Board a traditional wooden abra at the Burj Lake jetty outside Dubai Mall and push out onto the water. The boat holds position close to the fountain nozzles, so when the show begins the jets rise directly around you with the Burj Khalifa lit above. It is the closest view available and the only one from the water. The ride runs about fifteen minutes and is timed to a show.

- Public transportation nearby
- The ride lasts around 15 minutes and is timed to a fountain performance, so arrive at the boarding point on Burj Lake at least 15 minutes before your slot - boats leave with the show and cannot be held. The boarding point sits on the Dubai Mall side of the lake; details are sent with your confirmation. You will get some spray, particularly in the front of the abra, so keep phones and cameras protected. The abra is an open wooden boat with bench seating and a shallow step down at boarding, which is worth knowing for anyone with limited mobility; there is no wheelchair access. Life jackets are provided. Evening slots are the most popular and sell out first. The show runs regardless of temperature, but the lakeside can be breezy in winter, so bring a light layer.
