Your day begins with an early pickup for the 08:00 lion walk. At Ukutula near Brits, meet the venue’s guides, receive the activity briefing and join an approximately one-hour walk in the bushveld. Observe the lions while following the guides’ instructions. Touching the lions during the walk is not permitted.

The visit also includes a guided predator tour, giving you time to view animal enclosures and learn about the resident predators. Your package includes admission for the booked programme, return transport in an air-conditioned vehicle and bottled water.

Participants must be at least 13 years old and at least 1.5 m tall. Breakfast and lunch are excluded. Transfers are normally private but may be shared depending on bookings.

What are the minimum age and height requirements?

Participants must be at least 13 years old and at least 1.5 m tall. Both requirements apply, including the height requirement for adults.

Can I touch the lions?

No. Ukutula does not permit touching the lions during the walk. The experience focuses on guided observation.

Is walking with lions safe?

Walking close to lions carries risk. Ukutula’s guides provide a briefing and supervise the activity. Participants must meet the requirements, remain with the group and follow instructions throughout the experience.

What animals will I see on the predator tour?

The guided tour visits predator enclosures at Ukutula. The animals viewed and access arrangements depend on the venue’s programme on the day. Particular sightings and photographs cannot be guaranteed.

Are breakfast, lunch and drinks included?

Bottled water is included. Breakfast and lunch are excluded, along with food and beverages not expressly listed as included. Discuss meal arrangements with us before departure if needed.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes and neutral-coloured outdoor clothing. Bring sun protection and a warm layer for the early departure. Follow any additional instructions provided with your booking.
