The Irish Monks and Celtic Influence
Begin the day at the ancient Caves of Hella, believed to be among Iceland’s earliest inhabited sites, where you’ll delve into the world of the Pápar—Irish monks who were the island’s first known settlers. Inside these mystical caves, learn about the early Celtic presence in Iceland, including the unique practices, artifacts, and religious life of these reclusive monks. Viking Dinner at Viking Restaurant
To conclude our journey, we gather at Ingólfsskáli Restaurant (or similar restaurant), named after Ingólfur Arnarson, the first Viking settler of Iceland. Here, you'll savor traditional Icelandic cuisine infused with Viking flavors. Maybe even raise a horn of mead to say, “skál” in a toast to the Viking spirit and in celebration of Viking journey you just completed. If time and weather allows, you can try your hand at axe throwing or archery!
