Enjoy an overnight at Ajlun Reserve its one of the most peaceful and relaxing places in Jordan and the perfect place for nature lovers. It was first established in 1988 and is located in the Ajlun Highlands in northern Jordan, around the village of Umm al-Yanabi' north of Ajlun. Sure, to appeal to nature lovers, this one-night excursion allows you to escape the city in favor of Ajloun Forest Reserve, located in the verdant northern highlands of Jordan. Departing from Amman with your own personal private English-Speaking Driver to Ajloun Reserve, to follow woodland hiking trails that vary in length and depend on ability. Enjoy the beautiful peaceful green scenery featuring strawberry trees, evergreen oaks, wild boar, and herds of roe deer. This tour includes one-night accommodation at Ajloun Reserve, breakfast and dinner, as well as hotel pick-up and drop-off with English – Speaking Driver who doubles up as your guide.

Amman - Ajloun (D) 70 KM
1. Ajloun Nature Reserve Your tour begins with pick up from your Amman hotel at 9 a.m., on board an air-conditioned vehicle destined for Ajloun Forest Reserve. This reserve is located in the Ajloun highlands at the northern Jordan, around the village of Umm al-Aanabi. It is an area of rolling hills covered by dense woodlands of evergreen oak, interspersed with pistachio, carob, and wild strawberry trees. The trees have been important to local people for their wood, scenic beauty, and quite often used for medicine and food. These woodlands are like the original forest animals, including herds of wild boar. There is a captive-breeding program for the locally extinct roe deer and an enclosure has been built on site, so they can be released into the forest in the near future. There are 2 hiking trails for you to enjoy. One is the easy trail named the Roe Deer Trail, a 1.5-mile (2 km) hike taking 1-2 hours. Leading from the campsite to the summit of a nearby hill overlooking the reserve. The area surrounding the trail is rich in wildflowers in the springtime. It is an excellent spot for a picnic (on your own expense). Not far from the campsite an old stone wine press is found that you can visit. The return trip goes past the breeding enclosures of the roe deer and back to the Visitors Center. The other option is the moderate trail named the Rock Rose Trail, a 5-mile (8 km) trail taking 3-4 hours. This trail passes across heavily wooded valley and ridges, inside and outside the nature reserve. This highly scenic trail passes through villages and olive orchards, which offers beautiful panoramic views to the West Bank and Syria. There are steep scrambles en-route that demand a reasonable level of fitness. Return to the reserve. Your day concludes with dinner and overnight at Ajloun Reserve.
