Yas Waterworld on Yas Island is themed on the UAE's pearl-diving past, and the story runs through the whole park rather than sitting on a sign at the gate. There are more than 40 rides, slides and attractions, including Dawwama, a hydro-magnetic tornado waterslide, and one of the largest sheet waves in the world for flowriding. The range is deliberate: serious drop slides and raft rides at one end, a wave pool, a lazy river and extensive shallow play areas for small children at the other, so mixed-age groups are not stuck. There is also a pearl-diving experience, water-cinema screenings and seasonal events through the year. Allow at least four hours; a full day is easy. Bring swimwear, a towel and strong sunscreen - lockers and changing facilities are on site, and food outlets are spread across the park. Please note the operator's condition that on Fridays entry is for ladies only, so check the day before booking.
