The first thing to do in Toledo is to understand its location, essential for grasping why so many different civilizations chose it as their capital or one of their main cities. This will be explained from the Mirador del Valle, a perfect spot to view Toledo perched on its rock, more than 600 meters above sea level, surrounded and protected on three of its four sides by the Tagus River.
