The drive to Cinque Terre will take about two hours. During the journey, your guide will entertain you with plenty of fascinating information about the views and villages along the way, as well as Cinque Terre and what to expect upon arrival. Manarola
Perched on a dramatic cliff 70 meters above sea level, Manarola is a charming and picturesque town adorned in vibrant hues. The town exudes a lively atmosphere, with a quaint piazza and a thriving fishing industry. It's not unusual to spot boats pulled up into the narrow streets or even the piazza when the sea is turbulent.
- 3
Vernazza
The quaint fishing village of Vernazza captivates you from the very first glance! With its vibrant houses stacked upon one another, the charming, narrow alleys, the scenic port, and its small beach, this town is simply enchanting. Vernazza carries a rich historical essence, reflected in its architecture: it stands as a fortified village once prepared to protect the coast from pirate invasions. The heart of the village is the Belforte tower of the Doria Castle, offering panoramic views of the town and the stunning coastline from its terrace.
- 4
Monterosso al Mare
Monterosso is the largest of the five coastal villages, offering stunning beaches, pristine reefs, and crystal-clear waters that make it one of the most welcoming spots on the Ligurian Riviera. The beach stretches along much of the coastline and is the only sizable sandy beach in the Cinque Terre National Park. It's a popular destination for both tourists and locals, so it can get quite lively during the summer months. Monterosso is divided into two sections: the old and the new town, connected by a tunnel through the hills. The newer area, Fegina, has been developed for tourism and is where most of the hotels and restaurants can be found. Meanwhile, the old town is dominated by a magnificent monastery and features charming, narrow medieval streets lined with colorful, pastel-hued houses.
- 5
Riomaggiore
The southernmost village of the Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore boasts a striking location perched on the rugged cliffs. The town stretches along the slopes with sweeping views of the sea, featuring traditional stone houses with vibrant façades and classic slate roofs. Nestled between two hills, it is surrounded by a mix of wild shrubbery and terraced landscapes, with gardens, olive groves, and vineyards.
