If you want to learn more about Spain's history, from its pre-Roman origins, through the diverse civilizations that shaped today's identity, to the Reconquista and the later expansion of the Spanish Empire, this is your tour!
Our English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up from your Madrid accommodation for a comfortable hour-long drive. It will be a day trip where we'll head south first to Toledo, in the region of Castilla-La Mancha, land of Don Quixote and the former capital of Spain. Upon arrival in Toledo, embrace the panoramic views along the River Tajo, reminiscent of El Greco's artistic vision. Toledo is known as the City of the Three Cultures and during our guided walking tour you will be able to know the reasons behind this title. Its Cathedral, Spain's most significant and the second-largest, showcases the influence wielded by the Catholic Church in the city. Meanwhile, its Jewish Quarter, home to ancient synagogues, serves as a reminder that before the Catholic Monarchs' reign, this city exemplified harmonious coexistence.
We'll continue our journey, this time heading north. Skirting Madrid again, we'll cross the Navacerrada mountains to enter another region, Castilla y León, where Segovia awaits.Upon arrival in Segovia, your driver-guide will initiate a panoramic tour, offering photo stops at breathtaking viewpoints along the way and afterward, you'll have some time to indulge in the city's rich gastronomy. During the guided walking tour in Segovia , you'll be amazed by the wonderfully preserved Roman aqueduct, by its beautiful cathedral, the last Gothic cathedral built in Spain, and to conclude, you will have the opportunity to visit the ancient defensive castle of the city, the Alcazar de Segovia.
