Join us on a journey to two UNESCO World Heritage cities celebrated for safeguarding their medieval riches. Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel, guaranteeing a seamless and delightful adventure.
We'll traverse the Sierra de Navacerrada mountains to reach another realm, Castilla y Leon, where the scenery and woodlands will whisk us away from the vibrant bustle of Madrid.
We'll journey across the Spanish plateau until we reach our first destination, Salamanca. A city steeped in a long and ancient history yet boasting a youthful and vibrant present thanks to the lively university vibe it enjoys.During our guided walking tour, you won't miss a thing. From its vast Plaza Mayor filled with bars, the Monterrey Palace, its famous Shell House, the University—one of the oldest in Europe—to its cathedrals. Because when one is not enough, Salamanca has two! Additionally, our expert guide will introduce you to Salamanca's rich gastronomy, where Spanish ham takes the spotlight.
After some time for lunch, we'll head south again towards the walled city of Avila. You'll get a great view of the surrounding walls that pretty much wrap around the whole city. Later, you'll wander around its peaceful streets, filled with a calm vibe thanks to all the convents and monasteries scattered throughout the area. You'll appreciate the Gothic cathedral, explore the Market Square, and trace the path of Saint Teresa until we arrive at the church honoring her, the very place of her birth. And remember, tasting the delightful sweets crafted from egg yolks by the nuns in the convents is a must before leaving!!
