Loire Valley Day Tour from Amboise : Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau & Vouvray Wineries

Meet your guide in front of the tourist Office of Amboise at 9:00am and board the minivan for an fun day in Loire Valley.

Let's start the day by the visit of Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau, a chateau worth seeing for its perfect regularity and reflect on the Indre river. Your passionate guide will share with you the stories of the estate.

Then, enjoy a complete discovery of the gorgeous gardens of Villandry, what is the meaning of such gardens and what were the codes attached to it in the 16th century? Let your guide give you some pointers and little tips. After a stroll in the vegetable gardens, you can go to herb gardens and observe the view on the chateau and the gardens and go see the swans residing on the water garden.

If you want to nibble on something, your tour guide will help you with recommendations of great French Boulangeries around.

In the afternoon, you will discover the range of wines that are produced in the area.

We will head towards Vouvray, mostly known for its sparkling white wines. Meet a local winemaker at a local winery. See the vines and visit the traditional vat room and the underground cellars. During the visit, you will improve your knowledge regarding wine-making and of course wine tasting. Elegant sparkling wines and white wines are produced in this area.

En route for the second wine tasting of the afternoon, in the area of Amboise : you will discover the range of wines that are produced in this area : white, rosé, red or sparkling, the region of Amboise is filled with surprises when it comes to wine.

Throughout the afternoon, your guide will share his/her knowledge with you, to help you understand the diversity of Loire wines and their specific terroir. You will learn the different steps of wine tasting and train your nose to identify many wine aromas.

Afterwards, you will be driven back to Amboise, where your tour will end at 6:00pm.
