Begin your journey by being outfitted in authentic Viking attire and photographed by Mink Studios. You will then explore Iceland’s South Coast, scouring the lands for hidden gems including a secret canyon that few people know of. The end of the adventure brings you to a local legend, Mr. Iceland, where you will ride with him on horseback and eat an authentic Icelandic dinner on his farm.

Mink Viking Photoshoot
Our first stop is the famed Mink Viking Portrait Studio, where you'll have the chance to transform into a Viking warrior or shieldmaiden. Learn about Viking culture while you don traditional Viking attire, complete with fur cloaks, helmets, and weapons. Next, you’ll strike a pose against a backdrop inspired by the Viking Age to forever document this epic moment in time!

Nauthúsagil Canyon
Afterwards, you'll journey to Nauthúsagil, a hidden canyon waterfall nestled within Iceland's dramatic canyon landscape. Our driver guide who also duals as a professional photographer will lead you on the hike through this enchanting ravine. There, you’ll be surrounded by towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. You’ll feel like you’re in an episode of Vikings as you immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Iceland as you traverse through moss-covered rocks, and clear drinkable streams. With your Viking attire on, you’ll be captured discovering the magic of this remote wilderness.

Viking Turf Houses
Ready to experience the roots of Icelandic culture? You will have the opportunity to experience an old Icelandic turf house. The kind of house early settlers lived in. Not only is the outside picturesque but the inside is educational!

Kvernufoss & Skogafoss Waterfalls
Next on this Ultimate Viking Experience, a hidden waterfall adventure awaits you! Some say the area screams iconic Viking movie set and we wholeheartedly agree. After a short 10-15 minute stroll, you’ll be mesmerized by the winding path and waterfall view. Maybe take a moment before or after your photos here to fill up your water bottle. In Norse mythology, Skógafoss is tied to the famed stories of Þrasi Þórólfsson, a legendary Viking settler. Sagas say that Þrasi buried a treasure chest behind the waterfall. According to the myth, locals found the chest years later, but only managed to grab onto its ring before it disappeared again. Explore and be photographed within this magical area during this Ultimate Viking experience!

Mr. Iceland Horseback Riding
After, we will head to Mr. Iceland’s countryside paradise. Mr Iceland is a local legend renowned for his knowledge of Icelandic culture and history. Our adventure continues not only with an Icelandic horseback riding experience but also photos of your interaction. Learn about and mount these majestic creatures while you take a scenic ride through the Icelandic countryside. Imagine yourself trotting along feeling the wind in your hair as you gallop and feel the Icelandic horses claim to fame, the 5th gait. You’ll walk away with a deep appreciation and be forever connected with the spirit of the Icelandic horse.

Dinner or Lunch with a Viking
As the day draws to a close, we'll gather for a special dinner with Mr Iceland to dine on delectable Icelandic cuisine. He will tell you tales of Viking lore and mythology, allowing you to gain further insight into the ancient traditions that continue to shape Iceland's identity.

- Happy horses make happy riders: Mr Iceland's horses are cared for with the highest welfare standards.
- Horse-riding beginners are welcome. However, you should be in relatively good physical shape and balanced mentally.
- You must be 12 years or older to participate in this tour.
- Nauthúsagil Narrow Canyon & Waterfall: You will get wet so it’s suggested you wear waterproof boots.
- IPJ reserves the right to modify the schedule if needed in regard to photo shooting locations due to weather or other circumstances.
- Pickup and Drop off are exclusively from the Reykjavik Area (outside of this general area would be an additional cost).
- The length of each day and the order in which you visit these attractions can vary depending on weather and road conditions.
- Photo packages may sometimes take more or less than 14 days to edit. This is just our average turnaround time.
- IPJ Editor selects and edits the photo package based on what we feel are the best shots from the day. If additional photos are available outside of the package count they may be available for 1,000 ISK per but not guaranteed.
- Be aware that if there is a request to have specific photos from the day, advance notice via email is required before the editing process begins.
- The order of the day is subject to change and the availability on the day. You will have 1 Viking Meal with Mr Viking that may be Lunch or Dinner Included.
